Stay Peaceful & Smiley :)

While going through some papers I stumbled upon this drawing from my nephew Ziad.   I am guessing he was going through his teething age.   It was sent to me with some other encouraging notes from my folks back home. So stay peaceful and smiley!

Vermont in Summer

Annalisa visited the US a short while ago and on her way to/from Montreal, she took this photo and she takes all the credit/blame for it.

PS.  If I offended anyone (read as  the photographer) by posting, I will gladly remove the photo since I just posted with no permission. Shameless I tell you!

Revolution

Revolution is when it rains in July
In a part of the world where this doesn’t usually apply;
Where summer is summer,
Rain is improper,
Though in winter,
Snow might be your daily supper.

The trees gasped for breath as the rain poured,
A surprise shower is something they adored,
Reviving their being, drenching them in laughter,
The cool wind slapping their lofty posture,

July 16th: 40th Anniversary of the Moon Launch

Memories of the Civil War Years at BHS

Being an educator myself, and seeing the state of education in the US, I thank my teachers every day at BHS for doing their best under the difficult circumstances of the civil war to teach and continue to do so during those hard times.  I remember well the early years of 1975-76 conflict when most [...]

July 5th Fireworks of Ridley Park PA

Here I am going at it one more time.  This time the fireworks were in Ridley Park PA.  The fireworks show takes place near a lake.  My only complaint is that they did not have any funnel cakes!!

I set myself at the edge of the water with the longest line between my position [...]

Freedom

The bird chirped on the tree,
Blissful to be free
After long captivity
That lasted till infinity.

Its heart was full of rage
In that golden cage,
Many times out of breath,
Contemplating death.

Suddenly there was a shot;
Scaring the bird a lot,
It flew far away
Yearning only for play.

Yet death was no more the game,
Instead, the bird longed for a dame,
To continue life’s [...]

July 4th Fireworks of Narberth PA

Today is July 4th and what a better day to learn how to shoot fireworks… The show was in Narberth PA and was hosted by The Narberth 4th of July Committee.  The place was packed.  They estimated a crowd of about 10,000.  I was all ready with my D40, 18-55 lens, [...]
